Dua Kro Family Services was established to respond to the needs of African Canadian and underserved communities. Our aim is to create awareness, interest, and participation in traditional and cultural practices that promote positive self-image, diversity, cultural awareness, advocacy, and empowerment.

Our approach is grounded in the following value statement, “A LONE TREE WILL FALL AGAINST THE FORCE OF THE WIND.” (Akan Proverb). We use the tree as a metaphor to represent a journey that begins with planting a seed that when nurtured with love knowledge of self and grounded in identity will go on to bear fruit and will evolve into a healthy and regenerative forest.
